My Philosophy

It’s interesting times at the moment, eh? In my opinion what we need, more than anything, is people to be living from their hearts and pursuing their passions. To be bringing joy into the world. Climbing does that for me and I hope it does for you too.

There is a reason climbing calls out to us, even when it scares the shit out of us. It is a pathway, a way to take action to discover, experience and demonstrate who we truly are. A way to learn what we are made of when things get tough. A way to express our childlike joy through playing on rocks or monkeying in the gym. The ability to take those skills into the rest of your life to contribute to your family, friends, coworkers and humanity in general.

This seeking for presence and deep connection is what drew me to climbing and allows me to grow my love for it continually. Climbing was the first experience in my life that I was able to be in an unnerving, intense situation but stay completely present. To be acutely aware of the real and perceived danger. To evaluate, observe, surrender and move up the rock knowing that I was following the truth of my inner wisdom. To step into fear without trying to change it or run away from it. To accept it fully with open eyes and an open heart.

These experiences showed me a depth of clarity, confidence, connection and fullness that I was not aware was possible for me previously. It changed my perception of who I am and what is possible. I want to share what I’ve learned with others. I want to affirm and deepen the sacredness in the world that climbing allows us to experience.

Since 2012 I have been training formally and informally, consuming every book, article, podcast, YouTube video, etc. on fear, mindset and mental fitness that I could get my hands on. I created a unique process that helps climbers manage their unhelpful, irrational and overwhelming fear. It’s a process that mends some of the disconnection between our mind and body so that they can move in harmony to experience deep joy, presence and passion within climbing and life.

If you are experiencing unhelpful, irrational, overwhelming fear within climbing it is likely your inner wisdom is trying to teach you something. Fear is not the enemy but simply a guide to help us stay safe, learn important lessons and expand our awareness of who we are and what is important to us. Climbing helps us to settle into the present moment and therefore tune in to our bodies and our intuition, our wisdom. To practice recognizing it and separating it out from all of the chatter that is so abundant in our overstimulated go-go-go society.

Our world is full of challenges. More than ever, the world needs people who know who they are, what is truly important to them and how to bring joy into what they do. I would love to partner with you to support you to tune into your inner wisdom, move past any fear that is holding you back and uncover what great adventures await.

Cheers,
Bryan
