Mental Fitness Coaching for the Mindful Mountain Athlete
Fear isn’t the enemy
It's a survival instinct doing its job — clumsily, but honestly. Fight it, and you get tension. Partner with it, and you get power. My job is to help you work with fear, not against it
Does this sound familiar?
-
Your body wants to move. Your brain won't let you commit. And the harder you push, the worse it gets.
-
You tried the usual advice. Breathe. Trust the gear. Take some small falls. And yet here you are, still stuck.
-
You berate yourself, think something's wrong with you, you try to stuff and hope it goes away on its own.
-
You remember what it felt like to move freely and be present. You want that back.
What clients are saying
“I sought out coaching as a female climber who struggles to feel confident in her skill sets, and has a difficult time quieting a very anxious brain before big climbing days. Bryan worked with me through each obstacle, helping me see things from a different perspective and giving me tools to work with when I encounter personal challenges. Since our coaching sessions not only has my climbing improved but (more importantly) my mindset has as well - I highly recommend working with Bryan, it is the best thing I have done for myself during my time as a climber.”

Hi I’m Bryan Dalpes.
I've spent 20+ years playing in the mountains — guiding, ski patrolling, climbing, trail running, basically anything outside that qualifies as “fun.”
But for a long time, fear, anxiety, self-doubt and comparison were constant companions, even doing the things I loved most. I'd show up in the mountains — ready for an adventure — and still find myself questioning whether I was good enough, comparing myself to others, feeling frustrated and stuck. The lifestyle looked great from the outside. Inside was a different story.
Finding my way through that changed everything. Those experiences, as hard as some of them were, gave me a perspective I couldn't have gotten any other way.
Now I help climbers do the same. I'd be honored to walk alongside you on the next leg of your journey.
